Contacting Dr. Bill...

Hello ASL Heroes!!!

You are important to me.  I read every one of your emails and I try to respond to as many as time permits.

Since I like to feed my family I work a full-time "day job" teaching for the local State University which keeps me incredibly busy taking care of my students and various responsibilities.

I get lots of requests from people asking questions or wanting to know various signs -- so many requests that I really can't answer them all during the semester. I try to save those sign requests and post the signs during the next break or during the summer.

The good news though is that there is a strong chance that I've already answered your question "somewhere" on this site. If you have questions about Lifeprint.com and/or ASL University you can use the box below to do a search of ASLU:

Question:  Why no "voice" phone number listed?

Answer:  Because I'm Deaf (well, actually I'm one of those Deaf slash hard-of-hearing types: 65Db loss). With amplification I can muddle through some voiced conversations (depending on if the other person has a clear, deep voice and no accent) but the fact is I prefer email over using "voice phones." My iPhone contract has no voice minutes! (Tip: Deaf people can get that contract from AT&T via filling out special form.)  Email works great. It sits there and patiently waits for me and provides a terrific reference later on.  Yes, of course I have and use VP (videophone) but only with my co-workers, close friends, and family.
Cordially,
- Dr. Bill
