American Sign Language: "come" / "go"


The signs for "come" and "go" are very similar. The main difference is that "come" moves toward you and "go" moves away from you.


 

The general ASL sign for "come" uses a single quick movement.

COME: 

 



The general ASL sign for "go" uses a single quick movement.

GO:

 


Note: For both signs ("come" and "go") there are variations. For example, some people use a hand over hand rotating motion instead of moving in a sweeping arc.
